American Dietetic Association Names National Media Spokespeople for 2007-2010

CHICAGO – The American Dietetic Association has appointed four registered dietitians to three-year terms as media spokespeople for ADA and reappointed six current spokespeople. ADA’s nationwide volunteer spokesperson network consists of 30 RDs who conduct more than 2,000 print, broadcast and electronic interviews each year on behalf of ADA on nutrition and healthful eating.

New ADA spokespeople for 2007-2010 are:

  • Joan Salge Blake, Boston, Mass. Blake is a clinical assistant professor and director of the dietetic internship at the Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Boston University. Her areas of expertise include cardiovascular nutrition, fad diets, food safety, hypertension and recipe development and meal makeovers.
  • Keri Gans, New York City, N.Y. Gans is a nutrition consultant providing individual and group counseling, and hosts a weekly “Diet Diva” public access TV program. Her areas of expertise include behavior and lifestyle modification, cardiovascular nutrition, diabetes, vegetarian eating and recipe development and meal makeovers.
  • Sarah Krieger, Tampa, Fla. Krieger developed and leads the Weight Management and Fitness for Families program at All Children’s Hospital, St. Petersburg. She also owns a nutrition consulting and personal chef business. Her areas of expertise include children’s nutrition, family meals and nutrition, food preparation and meal planning, food safety and nutrition education for consumers.
  • Kerry Neville, Seattle, Wash. Neville is a consultant specializing in communications for consumer and health professional audiences. Her areas of specialty include children’s nutrition, diet books and trends, disease prevention, food preparation and meal planning, and functional foods and phytochemicals.

In addition, the following current ADA spokespeople have been reappointed for 2007-10:

  • Jeannie Gazzaniga-Moloo, Sacramento, Calif.
