As an officer in the US Army, I have had the opportunity to acquire additonal leadership skills. In addition I have served in leadership roles in various other professional and community organizations. I have shown that I have already been an ADA leader by the leadership positions held in the past.
What do you perceive as an important issue impacting the dietetics profession today?
One of the most important issues inpacting the dietetic profession today is the need to provide the leadership in combating obesity. We have made outstanding progress as being seen as the expert in nutrition but contine to struggle.
How would you encourage and promote diversity if elected? I would continue to work promoting diversity by working with students and peers as their mentor showing them the opportunites available and encouraging them to become involved.
