What related experience and skills have you obtained to prepare you to be an ADA leader?
I have successfully directed a national nutrition and food service program; implemented a national prime vendor program notwithstanding opponent stakeholders; organized a national advisory council and developed a strategic plan for a national nutrition and food service program. I worked in a not-for-profit government organization with limited resources. I have maintained professional contact with members of ADA and the National Society of Healthcare Food Service Management.
What do you perceive as an important issue impacting the dietetics profession today?
An important issue impacting the dietetic profession today is the proliferation of nutrition-related information. Getting the right message to the consumer is a daunting task for educators and clinicians.
How would you encourage and promote diversity if elected? I would encourage and promote diversity by networking with colleagues of various ethnic groups to explore new ways of approaching interpersonal relationships.
