Subject: Speaker Message #11: Reminder-HOD Webinar on Nutritional Genomics

What Do You Need to Know? The HOD Webinar "Nutritional Genomics: Challenges and Opportunities in Dietetics Practice and Education" is scheduled for Wednesday, September 17 at noon (Pacific)/2:00 p.m. (Central)/3:00 p.m. (Eastern), which was noted in Speaker Message #7 (posted on July 30).
 
What Do You Need to Do? If you have not registered to participate, please do so as soon as possible. Also, be sure to read the HOD Backgrounder "Nutritional Genomics" (Speaker Message #7) prior to participating in the webinar.
 
When Do You Need to Complete It? Please be registered by 10:00 a.m. (Central), Wednesday, September 17.


Overview of the HOD Webinar

  • The HOD Leadership Team felt a need to provide you and members with a webinar on the issue of nutritional genomics so that you are prepared to discuss this important issue during the Fall HOD Meeting.
  • The webinar “Nutritional Genomics: Challenges and Opportunities in Dietetics Practice and Education” will be conducted on Wednesday, September 17 at noon (Pacific)/2:00 p.m. (Central)/3:00 p.m. (Eastern). This webinar will be 1 1/2 hours, with a significant amount of time spent on questions/answers.
  • The objectives for this session are:
    1. Review the status of research and clinical application for nutritional genomics in health care and dietetics.
    2. Recognize challenges and opportunities for dietetic practitioners and educators.
    3. Discuss the importance of participating in the national debate on the future of nutritional genomics and the role of dietitians.
    4. Discuss HOD backgrounder and answer questions.

Preparing to Participate on the HOD Webinar

  • The webinar will require you to read the HOD Backgrounder in order to be ready to participate (see Speaker Message #7).
  • Consider writing down any questions you might have related to nutritional genomics based on reading the HOD Backgrounder.

Registration Still Open

  • Currently, we have 121 participants registered for the webinar. Sixty-two (62) delegates are registered as of today.
  • If you have not registered yet, please register for the HOD Webinar by using the link below.
  • If you are unable to participate in the webinar, you will be able to listen to a recording of the session. This recording of the webinar will be available beginning on Friday, September 19.
