Board of Directors: Director-At-Large

Term

  • 3 positions serving staggered terms
  • 3 year term

Part I: Qualifications

  • Member of the ADA in the Active classification.
  • Experience in activities and operations of the Association.
  • Participation in national and affiliate and/or district dietetic association activities within the past five (5) years.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration preferred.

Part II: Requirements

  • The director-at-large shall serve a three (3) year term.
  • Time. The director-at-large position requires a time commitment of approximately ten (10) – fifteen (15) days each year for meetings and travel in addition to the annual meeting. 
  • Additional time is required for conference calls, correspondence, planning, writing reports, etc.  Depending on committee appointments and the Association's program of work, this time commitment may be greater.  Employer support in advance is encouraged.
  • Willingness to commit time and talent to special projects and/or task force assignments from the Board of Directors.

Part IV: Functions

  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors.
  • Serves as a liaison to other groups as requested by the president.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the president.
  • Communicates with members and non-members about the Association programs and initiatives to understand the profession and the needs of members.
  • Encourages and promotes diversity and inclusivity.
