Who Should Attend:
Dietetics practitioners who practice in clinical inpatient and outpatient settings; community practice settings; those who serve in high risk population areas, particularly with adolescents and older women of child-bearing age; nutrition consultants; and allied health professionals.
Learning Objectives:
- List at least two metabolic or physiological changes in pregnancy that affect nutrients needs
- Identify risk factors placing adult women, specifically those >35 years old, at risk for poor maternal and fetal outcomes
- Compare and contrast nutrient needs in single vs. multiple pregnancies
- Discuss the role of nutrient supplementation in the prevention of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
- Identify how biological and socioeconomic factors influence poor pregnancy outcomes in pregnant teens
- Describe how inadequate and excessive weight gain during adolescent pregnancy may affect fetal and maternal growth
- Identify current recommendations for energy and selected nutrients during adolescent pregnancy

Site Registration Fee includes:
