  • Explain the value of professional liability insurance
  • Take steps to minimize the risks of litigation
  • Describe the chain of events that leads to litigation and understand the plaintiff’s point of view
  • Discuss three common care issues that precipitate litigation involving dietitians in health care facilities
  • Apply learned techniques, including impoved documentation, to minimize legal exposure
