Learning does not end when you leave school, as we all know. Every day patients present different scenarious that may not be in the diet manual. What do you do when a patient quotes the latest gestational diabetes screening clinical trial substituting jellybeans for glucose beverage? Perform a search on PubMed to seperate fact from fiction, track down the research behind the headlines and hype.

PubMed includes over 15 million citations for biomedical articles back to the 1950's. These citations are from MEDLINE and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources.

This tutorial teaches how to:

  • Search PubMed with MeSH (medical subject headings).
  • Limit search results (e.g. English-only citations).
  • Save search results, and rerun them in the future.
  • E-mail search results.
  • Correct an incorrect citation with the Single Citation Matcher.
  • Find related articles by using the Related Articles link.
  • Perform quick research by using the Clinical Queries link.
