Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN) is one of the largest and most dynamic dietetic practice groups of the American Dietetic Association. With nearly 5,500 members, SCAN brings together nutrition professionals with expertise in sports performance, fitness and health, cardiovascular health, wellness, and the prevention and treatment of disordered eating. SCAN promotes professional excellence by providing innovative professional development and networking opportunities to SCAN members and promotes SCAN members within and outside the American Dietetic Association. Sports Dietetics-USA, a subunit of SCAN, assisted the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) in the development of the new Board Certification, Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), for RDs who specialize in sports dietetic practice.
