Dietetic Practice Group #25
Visit DPM&R’s Web site at www.dpmrdpg.org
The goal of Dietetics in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is to promote and support dietetic professionals as integral members of the rehabilitation team in improving functional outcomes for their patients. Members practice in acute and subacute rehabilitation facilities, transitional living centers, skilled nursing facilities and home health. Due to our depth and breadth of experience, we can provide valuable resources to both new and veteran practitioners. In addition, members have the opportunity to expand and develop skills and share these with other professionals through alliances with organizations such as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Members are encouraged to participate in current projects such as working as an assistant editor for the newsletter, helping to update and develop patient education materials for the National Dysphagia Diet, serving as a Networker (an experienced resource person in a practice area), helping with maintenance of our Web page or working as a public policy liason for our practice group.
Other member benefits include:
- Network, a quarterly publication which reports on current trends in dietetics and rehabilitation.
- Networkers, who are practitioners who have diagnosis-specific expertise and respond to member requests for advice.
- Electronic mailing list to facilitate timely interactive communication among DPM&R members.
- Opportunities for professional involvement.
