Affiliate List Rental Guidelines
ADA’s Data Management Information System provides affiliates with access to their particular members and to dietetics professionals living within their affiliate who are pre-qualified for ADA membership but are non-members. Non-member data is provided for affiliate recruitment purposes only and can not be sold as part of the list rental program. These lists are updated on a daily basis as changes are received at ADA headquarters.
Suggested List Rental Regulations
If an affiliate wants to sell their membership list, the following guidelines should be followed:
- A completed rental agreement and a copy of the intended mailing should accompany each rental request. Refer to the ADA Web site for a sample of ADA’s list rental agreements.
- The list rental should be contingent upon approval of the user’s purpose, which should be consistent with ADA positions and philosophies (refer to the end of this page for ADA’s mission, vision and philosophy). Product statements on properties, performance, nutrient values, beneficial results, etc., should be verified by adequate data available in well-accepted literature.
- Lists are rented for one-time use only, for which it was approved. Renters should be informed of this in the rental agreement.
- Lists may not be used by a company or organization to conduct a survey.
- Lists should not be duplicated, transferred, sold to a third party or used for any purpose other than the expressed direct mail purpose. Violation of these specifics should be grounds for denial for any future rental requests.
Inter-Affiliate Requests for Membership Lists:
When one affiliate wants to obtain the membership list of another affiliate, the requesting affiliate is encouraged to contact the other directly to request their membership lists. Affiliate contact information is available on the ADA Leadership Directory on the member-only Web site.
