Resolving for a Healthier America: The Challenge of Healthy People 2010

Presented by The Almond Board of California
The overarching objectives of this session are: to review the current state of America’s health by examining the progress toward Healthy People 2010 goals. Presenters will discuss research related to nutrition and physical activity that provides insights on how to better meet these goals and will brainstorm ideas to help consumers achieve Healthy People 2010 goals. Invited speakers include Rebecca Reeves, DrPH, RD, Gary Foster, PhD, Kathy Spangler and Dave Grotto, RD. CPE Level 2, CPE Credit 4.0.

Join the Foundation for a legendary evening of gourmet food, spectacular entertainment and dancing taking place in the Grand Ballroom of the Philadelphia Marriott. Tickets for the gourmet dinner can be purchased via the registration form in the FNCE Program Preview or the ADA Web site. Space is limited. Seating requests will only be accepted for those individuals who have purchased tickets by Monday, September 3, 2007. Rocky 5K Challenge

Tuesday, October 2, 2007, 6:45 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
This event is a great opportunity for both competitive and amateur athletes to see some of the sights of Philadelphia while getting in a morning workout. The registration fee includes official race number, T-shirt, race results, nutritious finish-line refreshments and transportation to and from the event. To register, please use the registration form found in the FNCE Program Preview or on the ADA Web site. Registration fee via the FNCE Program Preview or ADA Web site is $35.00. On-site registration is $45.00 and is available until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1.

Begin and end your busy day during FNCE with a relaxing and invigorating yoga session. Register on-site at the Foundation Booth. Space will be available on a first come, first- served basis. You may attend unlimited sessions for a suggested $15.00 contribution. Attendance is limited.
ADA Foundation Pedometer Program
While at FNCE, stop by the Foundation Booth to pick up a pedometer and recording card, while supplies last. Aim for 10,000 steps per day during FNCE and you'll qualify for a chance to win a prize. With each winning bid, you will take home a unique prize and know that your gift will enable the ADA Foundation to fulfill its mission. Bidding will take place at the Foundation Booth throughout the meeting.
ADAF Quilt Fundraiser — Piece Together a Healthier Future for Our Children
Stop by the Foundation booth to purchase raffle tickets for your chance to win a quilt designed by children. The theme is the “Fruit and Veggie Olympics.” The quilt will be a compilation of drawings creating a unique work of art. All proceeds from the quilt will benefit the ADA Foundation’s Healthy Weight for Kids Initiative.
