FNCE Excursion — Plants and People: A Walk through the Morton Arboretum
Enjoy an autumn experience at one of Chicagoland's treasured outdoor spaces. A guided tour will highlight plants significant to the history and folklore of early settlers. Learn historic medicinal purposes for plants and which have the potential to be the next plant-based cure. Learn which plant helped Jamestown settlers survive scurvy, the plant that Dakota Sioux greet with a song each spring, and which were used by the Potowatomi to treat cancer. Lunch and lecture will follow the guided tour.
