ADA's New Organizational Identity Program Update
On June 1, the American Dietetic Association unveiled a new organizational identity that supports the Association's new strategic plan and reinforces ADA's new vision, "Optimize the nation's health through food and nutrition," and its new mission, "Empower members to be the nation's food and nutrition leaders."
ADA's new "Eat Right" logo is a dynamic expression that simply declares what ADA promotes. Using colors inspired by various foods — leafy greens, apple red and plum — the new logo will be used by all the Association's related entities including ADA's Foundation, Commissions, Political Action Committee and its dietetic practice groups, member interest groups starting in June.
Among the goals of ADA's new Organizational Identity Program are: to increase awareness, understanding and respect for ADA and registered dietitians; build unity and cohesiveness among the membership; and promote pride in the organization. To complement the new logo, ADA also has a new statement of purpose that expresses the Association's mission and vision in one clear, concise statement: "The American Dietetic Association is the world's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. ADA is committed to improving the nation's health and advancing the profession of dietetics through research, education and advocacy."
The new identity brings all entities within the Association under the "Eat Right" umbrella and demonstrates the breadth of ADA's capabilities, services and contributions. It will reflect ADA as a multidimensional but unified Organization and also will help to give external stakeholders and the public a better understanding of ADA, its members and its magnitude.
The key to the success of Program is proper, consistent, and uniform use of the visual identifier by everyone involved with the development of communication materials. Please use the link below to view the new Organizational Identity Program Webinar.
