WHAT: Champion Nutrition: the American Dietetic Association’s 2008 Public Policy Workshop
WHEN: February 4 to 6, 2008
WHERE: Renaissance Washington, D.C., Hotel, 999 Ninth Street N.W.
WHO: Nearly 500 American Dietetic Association members, primarily registered dietitians, from all parts of the country will attend.
WHY: Food, nutrition and health legislation converge in the field of dietetics. ADA members have a unique perspective on how to advance the health of individuals through improved nutrition policy. Attendees will receive briefings on ADA’s policy and legislative priority issues and how to be an effective advocate for the dietetics profession.

  • 8:00 a.m.: Acting US Surgeon General Steven K. Galson, MD, MPH, US Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), and US Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio)
