Exhibit Sales Manager, Meeting Services

The American Dietetic Association, the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, is seeking an Exhibit Sales Manager. This position is responsible for the development, implementation and management of exhibit sales, customer relations and on-site management of ADA’s annual Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the processing of exhibitor contracts and the confirmation of acceptance for contracted space
  • Design exhibit floor for maximum revenue with adherence to all legal and safety regulations
  • Produce the exhibitor prospectus for next year’s exposition
  • Market and sell the expo, supervise (one) staff in the sales of exhibit space for two special member groups and career center
  • Manage exhibitor database for accurate historical, logistical and billing information
  • Supervise exhibitor payment process
  • Oversee production and distribution of the exhibitors’ service
  • Coordinate with Meeting Services to develop the Expo section of the program preview and on-site program
  • Manage exhibitor pre-registration with the registration company
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Exhibitors Advisory Council
  • Oversee all aspects of trade show move-in and move-out including tradeshow set-up, security, freight, drayage, exhibit hall data and phone lines as well as other utilities
  • Oversee on-site booth selection and sales
  • Manage all planning to adhere to budget and American Dietetic Association exhibiting rules and regulations
  • Supervise one full-time employee

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
  • CEM preferred
  • Minimum of four years experience in tradeshow management and demonstrated knowledge of IAEE and HCEA regulations required
  • Experience in tradeshow sales and contract management
  • Budgeting experience a plus
  • Computer skills to include experience with a2z exhibit management software and MS Office products
  • Demonstrated ability to produce well-organized and quality tradeshows required
  • Dynamic team player who can use a collaborative approach in managing programs
  • Multi-task oriented and able to work well under pressure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
  • Travel required for conference and site visits
