CADE Vision, Mission and Goals

Just as the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education expects a dietetics education program to establish a mission and measurable goals to guide its operations, CADE must do the same to improve its effectiveness as an accrediting agency.

Vision
CADE-accredited programs will be valued and respected for preparing competent professionals for entry-level and evolving practice.

Mission
CADE serves the public by ensuring the quality and continued improvement of dietetics education that reflects the evolving practice of dietetics.

Strategic Goals

  1. Demonstrate accountability to the public through the establishment and application of market responsive, rigorous standards which require programs to document academic quality and student achievement.
  2. Provide and communicate clear CADE expectations to assist programs in meeting quality accreditation standards.
  3. Enhance preparation for entry-level practice by requiring program self-examination to ensure quality improvement and planning for purposeful change.
  4. Encourage educational innovation and diversity in order to address evolving dietetic practice.
  5. Continually evaluate accreditation practices and develop and maintain appropriate policies and procedures which ensure fair and consistent decision-making of accreditation decisions.
  6. Provide opportunities for professional development and educational leadership.
