May is Older Americans Month

If you are one of those adults who is always telling your children and grandchildren to eat their fruits and vegetables, here is some advice for you, too: Eat your fruits and vegetables!

Colorful and nourishing, they’re part of a healthful eating plan at any age. The fiber in fruits and vegetables may help overcome constipation. Their potassium may help counter the effects of sodium on blood pressure and their antioxidants may provide anti-aging properties that can reduce your disease risk.

For more information on consuming enough fruits and vegetables as you age, consult a registered dietitian.
