Tip of the Day
Food Day is a nationwide campaign for healthy, affordable and sustainable food for everyone. "Healthy" and "affordable" are words we all understand, but how about "sustainable"? We hear it all the time, but do you really know what it means?
Sustainable eating is about choosing foods that are healthful to our environment and our bodies. A few ways you can support sustainable food include:
- Eating locally and seasonally to reduce your carbon footprint
- Growing your own food (even if it’s just herbs in a pot or tomatoes on a patio)
- Drinking tap water instead of bottled or packaged water to reduce waste
- Buying in bulk to reduce packaging and waste.
