Tip of the Day
Turn Off the TV and Turn on the Fun
During the cold winter months, children may end up spending more time in front of the television and less time being active. Keeping your children physically active is important all year long.
Snow days provide great opportunities for outdoor activity:
- Build a snowman.
- Go ice skating.
- Go sledding.
- Have a snowball fight.
- Shovel your elderly neighbor's snow.
- Make snow angels.
If the temperature is a little cold for your taste, stay active inside:
- Turn off the television and turn on the music! Few children can resist a dance party.
- Play hide-and-go-seek.
- Have a hula hoop contest.
- Have a family contest to see who can be the first one to go up the stairs 100 times in a day.
