Tip of the Day

Happy Thanksgiving!

Families everywhere will come together today to give thanks while enjoying elaborate meals. Some might argue that the only meal better than Thanksgiving dinner is digging into the leftovers later!

Keeping food safety in mind doesn't end after the food is prepared, cooked and served – storing leftovers properly is just as important.

  • Remember to always discard any turkey, stuffing or gravy left out at room temperature for longer than two hours.
  • Divide leftovers into smaller portions and refrigerate or freeze in sealed containers.
  • Use refrigerator leftovers within three to four days and frozen leftovers within two to six months.
  • All stored leftovers should be reheated to a safe internal temperature of 165°F.
