Tip of the Day
Fall Fitness
Fall is here, and with it comes comfortable sweaters and bulky coats. But don't let the coverage your fall wardrobe offers knock your fitness goals off track.
No matter what the season, the USDA recommends, "adults should do at least two hours and 30 minutes each week of aerobic physical activity at a moderate level or one hour and 15 minutes each week of aerobic physical activity at a vigorous level."
So don't hide behind a sweater, keep active and enjoy the fall weather. Activities the entire family can enjoy outside this season are:
- Raking the leaves (and playing in them!)
- Playing a game of touch football with the neighbors
- Kicking around the soccer ball
- Planting a fall garden
- Collecting acorns for arts and crafts projects with the kids
- Apple picking
- Visiting a corn maze
