Celebrate Healthy Habits this Holiday
Labor Day is a great time to enjoy delicious foods and beverages with family and friends, and this year you can make healthy habits part of your celebrations. Hosting a gathering or heading to a barbecue? There's no better time to make celebrations fun, healthy and active:
- Try making recipes healthier using less salt, sugar and fat.
- Decorate foods with nuts or seeds, or cut vegetables into creative shapes.
- Make moving part of every event, whether it be dancing, playing games or encouraging guests to go for a walk after dinner.
- Remember, it's never too early to for adults to role model a healthy lifestyle for children — lead by example!
