Tip of the Day
Know Your Microwave Wattage for Easier Cooking
Microwave ovens are convenient, but it is important to recognize the differences among microwave ovens and how they can affect cooking times. The higher the wattage of a microwave oven, the faster food will cook.
If you do not know your microwave oven wattage, there are multiple ways to determine the wattage:
- The instruction manual that comes with your unit will have the wattage information.
- Some microwaves have a sticker or label inside the door that give the wattage.
- MicrowaveOvenFacts.com lists wattage by brands and models.
- Contacting the manufacturer or checking the manufacturer's website is always an option.
Remember, with all cooking methods, the only way to ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature is to buy a food thermometer and use it!
