Tip of the Day
When Was the Last Time You Measured Portion Sizes?
This National Nutrition Month, really take a look at what you are eating. "Get Your Plate in Shape" by adding more fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat or fat-free dairy. The 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend that you "enjoy your food, but eat less."
This means avoiding oversized portions and overeating. Think before you eat and consider if you are actually hungry (or feeling bored, frustrated or stressed) or if the food is worth the calories. Try using a smaller plate, bowl and glass to limit your portion size.
