National Wear Red Day
The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute declared February 3 as National Wear Red Day. On this day, men and women wear red to unite in their attack against heart disease – the number one cause of death in America and the number one killer of American women. The goal is to make women increasingly aware of the danger of heart disease, and how factors like high blood pressure and high cholesterol increase their risk of developing heart disease.
