I've Heard That Low-calorie Sweeteners Can Increase Your Appetite. Is This Accurate?
A recent analysis of published research concluded that low-calorie sweeteners (such as aspartame, acesulfame-K, saccharin and sucralose) do not affect appetite in adults. There were not enough studies in children to draw a conclusion.
Also, keep in mind that using low-calorie sweeteners will affect overall energy balance only if the low-calorie sweeteners are substituted for higher calorie foods and beverages.
