Nutrition Q & A
What is the Difference Between Stevia and Reb A?
Stevia is a bush native to Central and South America. Rebaudioside A — also called Reb A or rebiana — is an extract from the stevia plant. It is used as a low-calorie tabletop sweetener and as an ingredient in foods and beverages. Studies have demonstrated (and FDA agrees) that Reb A-based sweeteners are considered safe for consumption. Stevia products are best used as replacements for calorie-containing sweeteners.
