Are Energy Drinks Better for Workouts?

For workout sessions that are of low to moderate intensity and will be lasting an hour or less, water is a good choice before, during and after exercise.

If you will be working out at moderate to high intensity for more than an hour, drinking a sports drink is a good choice. You may also need more fluids if you are working out in a hot environment, and if you sweat profusely. Remember to start drinking water prior to your workout session and to replace lost fluids after you are finished working out.
