What is the Difference Between Green and Black Tea?

Tea has been around for a long time, but there has never been such a variety of teas available as there is today. All tea comes from the Camellia Sinensis plant, but the differences come from how the tea is processed. Black tea, which is the most popular tea in the United States, is exposed to air. This process turns the leaves dark and imparts flavor. Green tea is not processed as much. The leaves are heated or steamed quickly.

Flavonoids and other polyphenols in teas work as antioxidants in the body to help protect it against damaging free radicals. The potential health benefits of drinking tea are currently being investigated.
