CHICAGO – The American Dietetic Association Foundation announced it has awarded 141 scholarships totaling $264,650 to students at the undergraduate, graduate and continuing education levels of dietetics study.
As the largest provider of scholarships in the dietetics field, the ADA Foundation has awarded nearly $2.5 million in scholarships to more than 2,000 students over the last eight years. Scholarships are funded by individual donors, ADA’s state and regional dietetic associations and dietetic practice groups, and American Dietetic Association corporate partners:
- Colgate-Palmolive Company
- Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Diabetes Care and Education dietetic practice group of ADA
- The Ann S. Litt Foundation
- Estate of Col. Katharine Manchester
- Mead Johnson Nutrition
“The ADA Foundation is proud to support deserving individuals who represent the future of the dietetics profession,” said registered dietitian and ADA Foundation chair Judith L. Dodd. “We are grateful for the continued support of our generous donors, without whose generosity these scholarships would not be possible.”
Each year, the ADA Foundation receives as many as 750 scholarship applications that are reviewed by the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee, which evaluates applicants, reviews criteria for each ADA Foundation scholarship fund and selects the most qualified recipients.
