OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS
WHO CAN ENTER: This Contest is open to all current members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Employees of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, their subsidiaries and affiliated companies and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, advertising or promotional agencies, members of their immediate families and persons with whom any of the foregoing are domiciled are not eligible to participate in this Contest.
CONTEST PROMOTER: This Contest is being promoted by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest starts on January 21, 2014 and ends on February 10 at 11:59 pm [EST] (the “Close Date”). The period in which the contest is open to entrants are referred to as the "Contest Period".
HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Send an email with the phrase “PPW Video Challenge” in the subject line to the email address firstname.lastname@example.org. The body of the email should contain the submitter's name, contact information and Academy ID number, which questions is addressed in the submission and a link to his or her video on YouTube.
The Academy will also accept video submissions via mail that are saved to a USB flash drive or compact disc. Please note that packages must arrive on or before February 10, 2014 and contain a written communication with the submitter’s name, contact information and Academy ID number and identify which questions is addressed in the submission. For more information on this method, please email email@example.com.
Video submissions must meet the following criteria:
- The content of the video submission must address one of two questions:
- Why is nutrition policy important?
- Why is supporting ANDPAC important to the dietetics profession?
- The video must contain original content
- The video must be at least one (1) minute but less than two (2) minutes in length
- The video must not endorse or promote any products, organizations or companies
The Academy is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, illegible, stolen, misdirected, misidentified or incomplete posts or contributions, for any problems or technical or mechanical malfunction of any telephone systems, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any posts or contributions to be received by the Contest Administrator on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by equipment, programming used in this Contest, human processing or otherwise, or any combination thereof.
SELECTION OF WINNERS: One (1) winner and one (1) runner up will be selected per question for a total of four (4) prizes. Once the contest is closed, assigned staff and member leaders will determine the top three (3) videos for each question, which will be then be placed on the Academy’s website. The winners and runners up will be determined by an online electronic vote. Only Academy members will be eligible to vote.
PRIZES: One (1) winner and one (1) runner up will be selected per question; qualifying four (4) people for prizes. The first place winner for each question will receive complimentary registration to the 2014 Public Policy Workshop, lodging for two (2) nights and up to $500 in travel and meal expenses. The runner up for each question will receive complimentary registration to the Public Policy Workshop. PLEASE NOTE: To win prizes for the question “Why is supporting ANDPAC important to the dietetics profession?” the Academy member must be a 2013 or 2014 ANDPAC donor.
WINNER NOTIFICATION: Selected participant(s) will be notified by email, mail or phone.
By participating in this Contest, each participant agrees to release and hold the contest administrator, their subsidiaries and affiliated companies and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with this Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
By participating in this contest, each participant agrees to assign copyright in the video to the Academy. Each person who speaks or can be identified in the video grants permission to the Academy to use and distribute the video in any medium.
This Contest is subject to all Federal, State and local laws. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
