2013 Public Policy Workshop Agenda

Policy from the Ground Up

The 2013 theme, Policy from the Ground Up, will focus on leveraging grassroots efforts to make a local and sustainable impact on the dietetics profession. Advocacy starts at home and branches to the community, state and federal levels – learn how to activate each sector to ignite a movement that will help all Americans to get well and stay well.

PPW 2013 will focus on legislation and programs in areas including food security and access, nutrition education, health care rollout, childhood and school nutrition, and healthy aging. At the end of PPW, participants put their knowledge into action when they visit Capitol Hill and meet with members of Congress.

Attendance is required at all PPW events, including meals and networking.
