The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation I WILL Legacy Society recognizes those individuals who wish to provide estate gifts to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation I WILL Legacy Society offers members and friends a patronage opportunity that will continue to impact the dietetics profession today and leave a legacy that will live into the future.

Members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics I WILL Legacy Society communicate their intent to include the Foundation in their estate plans. This program responds to donor requests for information on estate options and the Foundation's need for a predictable future stream of revenue. This is a wonderful way to demonstrate a commitment now for support the Foundation can use in the future.

• Reasons to Join the I WILL Legacy Society

To become part of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation I WILL Legacy Society:

• Designate the Foundation in your estate plans by including a provision in your will to make a bequest to Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation.

  If you have already completed your will, you can add a codicil to include the Foundation in your plans the next time you change your will. State law controls the method for amending your will, but it is usually a simple matter. It is important to specify the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation in your estate plans to ensure your philanthropic intent. See sample language below.

  Use the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation tax ID # 36-6150906, if needed, in your documents.

• Should you choose to include the Foundation in your estate plans, please fill out and sign an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation Declaration of Intent form.
  
  While not legally binding, it does indicate your intention to include the Foundation in your estate plans.

• The intent of your estate gift will be honored. We encourage donors to designate their gifts to the Foundation for its general purposes so that we can fund the greatest needs now and in the future. Gifts may also be designated to scholarships, research or public education.

There are several ways you can communicate the inclusion of the Foundation in your will:

• I/We hereby bequest to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation, a qualified not-for-profit organization, …
  • Option One:

    … the specific sum of $_________ for the Foundation's general purposes or for (support of scholarships, research or public education).

  • Option Two:

    … _________% of my estate for the Foundation's general purposes or for (support of scholarships, research or public education).

  • Option Three:

    … the residual of my estate after all of my other expenses and obligations have been paid for the Foundation's general purposes or for (support of scholarships, research or public education).
