February 2012 Everyday Heroes

Charlotte Caperton-Kilburn, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN

South Carolina

I helped a middle school apply for funding to bring healthy yogurt and fruit smoothies to their concession stand and to add a nutrition club to their school.

Kelly Devine, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN

As a Kids Eat Right campaign volunteer, I helped over 350 students start a before school recess and walking club as part of their Fuel Up to Play60 school program.

Kim Kramer, RD, LDN

Illinois

As a Kids Eat Right campaign volunteer, I was a recipient of a Fuel Up to Play60 RD mini-grant. I had the opportunity to work with kids and staff at two local elementary schools to help improve the school wellness environment. Working as a Fuel Up to Play60 RD was one of the most rewarding things I have done in my career so far. I have seen the impact that I made with students this year that would not have happened otherwise if a dietitian was not placed in their school.

Holly Anne Larson, MS, RD

Washington, DC

I have been a member since 2003, and I am a proud Kids Eat Right Campaign Volunteer for the RD Parent Empowerment Project.
