Using colors inspired by various foods—leafy greens, apple red and plum—the Academy's "Eat Right" logo is a dynamic expression that simply declares what the Academy promotes. The logo is used by all related Academy entities, including the Foundation, Commissions, Political Action Committee and the dietetic practice and member interest groups.
The goals of the Academy's Organizational Identity Program are to:
- Increase awareness, understanding and respect for the Academy and registered dietitians;
- Build unity and cohesiveness among the membership; and
- Promote pride in the organization.
The Academy's statement of purpose complements the logo and expresses the mission and vision in one clear, concise statement:
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the world's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. The Academy is committed to improving the nation's health and advancing the profession of dietetics through research, education and advocacy.
The identity brings all entities within the Academy under the "Eat Right" umbrella and demonstrates the breadth of the Academy's capabilities, services and contributions. It reflects the Academy as a multidimensional but unified organization, and gives external stakeholders and the public a better understanding of the Academy, its members and its magnitude.
The key to the success of the program is proper, consistent, and uniform use of the visual identifier by everyone involved with the development of communication materials.
The Academy's marketing and communications group looks forward to working with the Academy's entities to ensure effective communication of the graphics identity program. Please direct any questions or comments to email@example.com.
