The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics made the following accreditation decisions at its January 22-23, 2009 meeting. Accreditation action definitions are as follows:

Developmentally Accredited — program not previously accredited that has not had a site visit and is being implemented according to the ACEND eligibility requirements and accreditation standards (ERAS).

Candidacy for Accreditation — program not previously accredited that has had one site visit and is being implemented according to the ACEND ERAS.

Initial and Continued Accreditation — program that has had one or more site visits and is in compliance with ERAS.

Probationary Accreditation — program fails to comply with ERAS or published policies and has been given a time period for coming into compliance.

Accreditation Withdrawn — program fails to comply with ERAS or published policies within the specified time period.

Substantial Equivalency — program located outside the US and its territories that meets the ACEND eligibility requirements for non-US-based programs, has had a site visit and is in compliance with the Accreditation Standards.
