About the Organization

ACEND is composed of a board of 15 members, a group of appointed peer reviewers, and staff members.

Qualifications and Nominations for ACEND Positions

According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Bylaws, the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) board has at least 12 voting members. The Academy Nominating Committee selects candidates for the chair-elect position, which is elected by the Academy membership. Following a one-year term, the chair-elect will become chair.

The ACEND board appoints the other ACEND board members from a slate of qualified candidates selected by the ACEND Nominating Committee following a call for nominations from program directors, Academy members, and the public. The ACEND board appoints program reviewers from among applications voluntarily submitted by dietetics educators and practitioners.
